Minimal Image with Maximum Beauty 🦈

These stunning Galapagos Sharks congregate off of Lord Howe Island, an island whose waters are home to a variety of sunken structures and coral reefs. Such a stunning place and animal hiding in plain sight!

Many believe that humans aren’t designed to function underwater, -this could not be further from the truth.
Upon immersion, our bodies have the ability to adapt to an aquatic environment. This physiological response known as the “mammalian dive reflex” overrides the basic homeostatic reflex, slowing the heart rate dramatically and optimizing respiration by conservatively distributing oxygen to vital organs.
Sounds scary? IT’s NOT! it’s an epic natural phenomenon which (if understood) allows us to push ourselves to limits we never thought possible…

A Southern Right Whale and a diver swim together 💙🐋 in the frigid waters of New Zealand’s Sub-Antarctic Auckland Islands during wintertime. These enormous whales can reach lengths of 45 feet and weights of over 70 tons.

Say aaah. Striped mackerel are filter feeders opening their cavernous mouths as they swim and sieving zooplankton from the water with their gill rakers acting like a net.
